The Night Before Baby
My wife and I are leaving for the hospital tomorrow morning at 5:30am PST (the date on the blog is relative to GMT) to be there at 6am. If I remember correctly, the C-Section surgery is planned for 8am tomorrow, at least based on my wife’s comment of “it takes two hours to prep for surgery.” We spent the day with our son “just the three of us” one last time before the baby. We went out to Applebees for lunch, went to the park down by the waterfront in Silverdale, then came home and took my inlaws out to dinner (it was my father-in-law’s birthday today).
Right now, my wife is packing her bag to be in the hospital. I’m mostly waiting for her to be done so I can go to bed. Not looking forward to geting up at 4:30am tomorrow. My mother-in-law is sleeping across the hall from my son since he can’t come until sometime after the surgery. Apparently, the hospital only lets the father in until about an hour and a half after the surgery. Since there’s no way I’m missing the birth of my second child, Yammy will be watching my son for quite some time tomorrow.
One thing our hospital does is post pictures of the newborn babies that come through on the website. They have a See Our Babies page where pictures are posted. I’m not sure how efficient they are at posting the pictures, but it looks like it was updated sometime today with some pictures, so my guess is they’ll be posted within 24 hours. I’m sure that’s more efficient than I’m likely to be at the process.
