Atkins Day 5
Today was a particularly challenging day to be on Induction. Seeing as my son’s birthday party was today at 11:30 at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma and we had to get their early to set up, etc, I didn’t have a whole lot of time to make breakfast this morning. Breakfast for me consisted of a piece of celery with some cream cheese spread on top. Lunch was even more challenging. It was a kid birthday party, so there was plenty of juice, soft drinks (for the adults), pizza, cake, etc. For someone on induction that basically means “nothing to eat.” Fortunately, I had packed a few slices of cheese and one of my low-carb meal replacement drinks.
I had managed to stretch myself to dinner by chewing on a little bit of turkey I had in the fridge. Dinner was a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese from McDonalds? (no bun or condiments, well except for one slice of pickele) and huge salad with mushrooms, cucumber, and blue cheese dressing.
I’ve noticed a few things about this diet so far:
* Even when I’m really hungry, it’s not nearly as bad as it was before this diet. It seems I can cope with hunger on this diet better, at least at the moment.
* It appears I’m losing about a pound a day so far. It will be interesting to see if that holds up going forward.
* While my energy is fairly stable during the day, I’m a bit more tired at night when it’s time to go to bed. Seems like I need my sleep more. Probably not a bad thing.
