I caved after just a couple of months and upgraded my phone.

What truly frustrates me about T-Mobile is the limited hardware support for HDVoice. They don't support the flagship Android phone or anything BYOD.</li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/5249/phoneboy-speaks-ep-144-t-mobile-usas-30-plan">10 May 2013</a>, <a href='http://phoneboy.com' rel='external nofollow' class='url'>Dameon Welch-Abernathy</a> writes: At least they support HDVoice at all...</li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/5249/phoneboy-speaks-ep-144-t-mobile-usas-30-plan">10 May 2013</a>, tom writes: yes this is a pretty nice plan, but i wish it were possible to switch between pay as you go and this plan or better yet i wish t-mobile would sell data buckets that could be added to a pay as you go plan and than used as needed.

i also have a couple extra phones around that i mostly just play around with on wifi. i would like to have a couple extra SIM cards that i just pay for the data i use as needed but mostly sit in drawer.

if i could buy say 10GB of data with a one year expiration date it would be absolutely perfect. at least a few carrier in Europe offer similar options i wish it were available in USA.

one thing i have noticed about t-mobile lately is that in order to activate a phone they ask for the IMEI number. i can still swap the SIM after activating but the very act of asking for the IMEI seems to go against the spirit of keeping the SIM/plan as something separate from the hardware device.

just out of principle i should be able to buy service without revealing what phone/device the servie will be used on.

tom</li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/5249/phoneboy-speaks-ep-144-t-mobile-usas-30-plan">10 May 2013</a>, <a href='http://phoneboy.com' rel='external nofollow' class='url'>Dameon Welch-Abernathy</a> writes: Data-only SIMs that I could load/use on demand would be awesome. We're a ways from that, I'm afraid.

I'm not a fan of asking for the IMEI during activation either but let's face it: they're going to know what IMEI you're using anyway. I believe they will lock the SIM to an IMEI in some specific cases--presumably when you buy certain prepaid phones and/or you're a new customer.</li></ul><hr /><h2>Related Posts</h2><ul><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/3232/t-mobile-usas-new-plans-show-you-what-the-handset-subsidy-costs" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: T-Mobile USA&#8217;s New Plans Show You What The Handset Subsidy Costs">T-Mobile USA&#8217;s New Plans Show You What The Handset Subsidy Costs</a></li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/4598/phoneboy-speaks-ep-26-the-bottom-line-for-mobile-phone-operators" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 26: The Bottom Line for Mobile Phone Operators">PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 26: The Bottom Line for Mobile Phone Operators</a></li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/1947/att-bringing-back-a-data-only-plan" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: AT&#038;T Bringing Back A Data-Only Plan?">AT&#038;T Bringing Back A Data-Only Plan?</a></li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/5260/phoneboy-speaks-ep-147-troubleshooting-imessage" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 147: Troubleshooting iMessage">PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 147: Troubleshooting iMessage</a></li><li><a href="http://phoneboy.com/1945/why-the-deaf-heart-t-mobile" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: Why The Deaf &lt;3 T-Mobile">Why The Deaf &lt;3 T-Mobile</a></li></ul><hr /><small><a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/us/">
