The Sound Of A Draining Battery?

I noticed something on my Nokia N95 the other day. When the phone was in idle mode (i.e. not playing music, making calls, etc) that the earpiece was emitting a high-pitched hum. I can make this happen by opening the slider or even touching a key in idle mode, even with the key lock activated! The high-pitched hum lasts for a minute or so and then goes away. I am not able to reproduce this issue on my Nokia E61. Haven’t tried it on other handsets yet.

While I don’t know for sure, I suspect that is the sound of the speaker coming on. Even if not, I suspect this may be one reason the battery life of the Nokia N95 isn’t what it could be.
