Hamachi 0wn3d by LogMeIn
Okay, it’s not that kind of owning, but Om Malik reported that LogMeIn acquired the makers of the Hamachi VPN product. Like most mergers, I’m not sure if this is immediate, has annoying crap like “usual and customary closing conditions,” or what. I’m sure the government is going to be involved one way or the other since LogMeIn is a US company and Applied Networking Inc. is based in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
It will be interesting to see if or how they address the issue that Ken Camp raised about tunneling connections through Costa Rica. Even if they do, I can’t imagine too man corporate customers jumping on this considering many of my customers like to know how to block access to this stuff.
