Nokia Buys Twango
I was perusing work email when I got up this morning and had read on an internal mailing list that Nokia bought Twango. A little scanning of Google Reader finds an article in the Wall Street Journal confirming the purchase, not to mention the little note on the Twango front page and now the press release from Nokia.
Personally, I’d never heard of Twango before this news. That being said, I signed up and I’m going to be taking a look at it. After all, meeting new members of the family is the polite thing to do (yes, I work for Nokia). It appears to be a competing photo service to Flickr, which allows uploads (via email). I seriously hope this means they’ll get an Atom-compatible uploader real quick so I can use the Photo Share capabilities already present in my Nokia phones. One can hope, anyway.
