AutoProfiles Goes 2.0
I got a note in email informing me of AutoProfiles going 2.0. I am a huge fan of AutoProfiles 1.0, and it’s nice to see some incremental improvements.
The main new feature in this release is the ability to control Bluetooth settings (on/off/visibility level) either in addition to or without changing your profile setting as well. I did not see a way just to change just the Bluetooth settings, though the claim on SymbianGuru.com is that it’s supported.
The major bugfix for this release is support for recurring meetings. That might explain some of the behavior I was seeing on the earlier release. I’ll have to watch this more closely to ensure it’s working properly.
I’ve also made my”schedule” inside of the application moderately more complex than it was before. Want to see if it can keep up with me.
Do have a couple suggestions:
- Add the ability to export/import the schedule information for AutoProfile.
- Add the ability to specify the profile used when you have an appointment (maybe Meeting isn’t the most appropriate?)
- Add the ability to specify the profile used on a per-appointment basis, using a particular profile (e.g. Meeting) as the default.
AutoProfiles is designed for S60 3rd Edition handsets. Completely worth the money, if you ask me.
