Now using app.net for Blog Comments

I’ve actually been looking forward to rolling this out on my blog ever since, well, I joined app.net, but really since Alex Kessinger built Comet at the latest ADN Hackathon. Now that the app.net comments widget is official, I am now using it as the commenting engine on my blog.

While I had no issue with Disqus per-se, I started seeing ads on sites where Disqus was running. Makes sense since they give the service away for free. But this way, I know I can export my data, and you can too because the comments you make on this blog and others where ADN Comments are used are part of your app.net account and can easily be exported or even removed if you’d like. I consider it a win-win for everyone.

Getting a free app.net account is easy. You can either sign up directly or use your Facebook account.
