Schoolhouse Rock
Being a child of the 1970s, Schoolhouse Rock is one of those things that I grew up watching between various ABC cartoons, including various cartoons from Ruby-Spears and Hanna-Barbera. Ah, those were the days. Hell, I think Schoolhouse Rock was used as “shorts” during movies I saw in elementary school (reel-to-reel movies).
In college, I had bought the Schoolhouse Rock 4-CD box set when it came out. A few years later, I ended up with four different Schoolhouse Rock videos. I’ve had these for a while. So when my son became of an age where he could appreciate it, I broke out the Schoolhouse Rock videos and CDs and let him take it in.
My four-year old son loves Schoolhouse Rock. Just today I caught him singing “Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here” and “Conjunction Junction, What’s Your Function?”
