Why I blog about VoIP
A blog entry from Leonardo Faoro raised the question on his impact on blogging about VoIP. It’s a question I feel the need for answering myself.
In short, I think I have an interesting view on VoIP. Due to my affiliation with Voxilla, I have a slightly different perspective–a sort of cross between the business and consumer side of things, but I still think its a perspective that needs to get out there. The items I blog about are things that personally interest me. They may not necessarily be “newsworthy” things, but then again I’m not writing blog entries like news stories. When I want to write news stories, they’re published on Voxilla in that way. When I want to write something from my point of view, I write a blog entry.
I think a part of me has always wanted to be in the media somehow, given my past experiments with Radio. What I don’t know, or get a sense of, is how much my opinion matters in the blogsphere. I don’t know if it ever will. I don’t know if I will ever be as important as people like Om Malik, Andy Abramson, Tom Keating, or Jeff Pulver. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get their attention, let alone meet them face-to-face.
Your feedback about my blog is always welcome, of course.
