Sn0wbreeze Revives my iPhone 3GS

From sn0wbreeze v2.9.5:

What is New?

  • Added 5.1.1/9B208 untether payload for the iPhone 4 GSM.
  • Added iPhone 3GS (iPad Baseband users) location services fix.
  • The most important bullet for me was the second one, which fixed the problem I was having with the GSM radio crashing every 30 seconds or so, even with location services disabled! Made it very difficult to use the phone in anything but airplane mode.

Needless to say, this was well worth the load and restore process I had to go through, namely back up the device, format and load the new firmware, and restore the device. Took ages, but the end result was a phone that, well, worked as a phone again!

Of course, with my new iPhone 4s on Verizon arriving soon, my iPhone 3GS will be relegated to travel duty.
