Getting ansy for my book to come out!
My new book Essential Check Point FireWall-1 NG should be out in a couple of weeks. I’ve already received the “Folded and Gathered” version of the book (essentially the book minus the cover, used to document printing errors and stuff) and it looks pretty damned good if I do say so myself! At least this time, I’m not in a situation where Check Point releases a new “major” version right as my book is coming out.
In any case, it covers the VPN-1/FireWall-1 reality up to NG AI, not necessarily including R55, though I do mention in a few areas where something was planned for R55. Pretty much the same organization as I had last time except I included a specific FAQ chapter to cover all the thing that didn’t nicely fit into the other chapters. Lots of new material in this book — had to replace all the material I jesttisoned because it was 4.1 and earlier specific.
