oldblog.phoneboy.com is moving

It looks like circumstances beyond my control have forced me to announce certain things I wasn’t going to announce until I was ready.

Today, I got a call from Data393, the company who donated a server to me to host oldblog.phoneboy.com on. They began to ask me about not having a billing record, which I didn’t have because I wasn’t paying for the service. While I did not give them any information–I told them I was in transit and would not be able to deal with this until Thursday–the end result is likely an emergency move of oldblog.phoneboy.com over the next few days. (My blog is hosted at 1and1, so that will not be affected by this.)

Meanwhile, in the background, the folks over at cpug.org and I had been in talks to move the content on my site over to cpug.org, where it would get more care and feeding than I am able to give it. That has not happened yet.

When cpug.org assimilated the contents of my site, the next step would be to revert oldblog.phoneboy.com back to what it was long ago; a site for shameless self promotion. It would be devoid of any Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 content. It would become the landing page for my blog.

I don’t know what’s going to happen to the content in the meantime. The oldblog.phoneboy.com server is offline at the moment. Hopefully they will bring the server back up and I can get the data off of it and get it up somewhere quick! I’m currently in Atlanta and I’ve got a long plane ride home tomorrow morning to think about how to do it.
