Can Your Connection Support VoIP?
Tip of the hat to Andy for pointing me at Visualware‘s MyVoIPSpeed Internet Connection Test. This provides not only bandwidth measurements (up and downstream), but gives you information about your “Quality of Service,” your jitter, and packet loss.
I ran this “test” while I was on a PSTN call using Gizmo Project and while my available bandwidth was not entirely accurate, the QoS/Jitter/Packet Loss numbers showed what I was experiencing on Gizmo Project: great quality, almost no jitter, and no packet loss. Ironically, my experience with a Skype Out call was less than spectacular.
