Web Calling–So What?

While it’s great to see that Gizmo Project is joining the Web Calling party, allowing people to make calls from a web page. However, this is nothing new. Of course, there are a lot of startups offering similar functionality today, including PhoneGnome who recently added this functionality as part of their 2.0 launch. The difference with them is that you will get a call on your registered PhoneGnome number instead of dealing with an embedded soft client. And then again, Broadvox Direct has had this feature on it’s user portal for a couple of years now, and you can specify both endpoints of the call to boot.
