Powerless in Port Orchard–Again

Filed under: connectivity, gadgets, phoneboy - 13 Dec 2006 13:26

Whenever a severe windstorm blows through the area, our power seems to go out. What’s funny is that the surrounding area–say within a mile or two of our house–usually seems to have power or if it goes out, their power gets restored faster. Yes, I know, we need to get a generator. It’s on the list of things to get, trust me.

Meanwhile, my son is at school–they have power–and my wife and daughter are out running errands. I’m home alone with my cell phones, laptops, and EVDO card to keep me company, which at least works. Despite being plugged in, it seems my laptops were not fully charged. Very irritating. At least my mobile phones are charged and working.

And people wonder why I attempt to keep all this stuff charged and ready to go.
