Seeing Full-Blown XP on MacBook–Weird.

Yeah, I’ve run Parallels full screen on my MacBook before, but this is completely different–using Windows XP as the base OS for my MacBook! After doing all the work to get it and the Mac drivers loaded, it’s quite impressive speed-wise. Of course, my first-generation MacBook has 2 gigs of RAM. Does quite an impressive job. Of course, I have to install the gazillion security updates and do a bunch of other junk to get this BootCamp partition up to snuff, but still, it’s working.

I run XP on my MacBook Pro frequently, primarily for playing video games. I have to admit that it struck me as totally bizarre the first few times, but you get used to it.

We actually have a Mac Mini at work that runs ONLY Windows. (It has OSX installed, obviously, but Windows is the default boot OS and we never boot it into OSX.) It’s being used to drive a display in the lobby and we just liked the form factor and look of the Mac Mini much better than any PC at its price point.
