QuickOffice On The Nokia E61i

QuickOfficeOne thing I didn’t realize I’d have on my Nokia E61i that I used to have on the Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 is the ability to create Word documents. The applications were not full-featured, but they did the basics like text formatting. On a mobile, that’s really all you need.

Enter QuickOffice on the Nokia E61i, which is version 3.8.5.0. You can purchase this program if you’d like, but the free version included on the E61i actually gives you the ability to create Word and Excel documents.

The formatting is fairly typical: bold, italic, underline, strikethru, font color, and background color. You can also justify text and adjust line spacing.

The Spreadsheet application is supposedly Excel-compatible. I am not a big spreadsheet user, so I have no idea how functional it is.

You can also view, but not create, PowerPoint docs. It seems to work ok for that.

All in all not bad for included software. I don’t deal in these kinds of documents enough that I’d want to spend the $49.95 to upgrade, but for included software, it gets the job done at least as well as the apps I had on the Nokia 9500 Communicator.
