Got Da Strep
That’s not me, but that’s about how I feel right now.
Tuesday, I went in to the local Urgent Care facility to be told what I already knew: you got strep! It’s something I used to get yearly or maybe every other year until I was in my mid 20s. The symptoms were all too familiar and it probably helped that my wife was in the process of being treated for it.
If you’ve been following my Jaiku stream, you probably know all this. Heck, I’ve been using it to help me to remember which pain medication to take when. I have to alternate Tylenol and Advil every couple of hours to prop myself up. Update: And Penicillin. Can’t forget that.
I have some posts in the can, which should tied you all over until I am over the worst of this horrible disease. Meanwhile, I’m going to pop some more pharmaceuticals and crawl into bed.

grandmother’s remedy: squeeze a lemon on your throat, big pain at the beginning, big relief after… hope this helps

Just Tylenol and Advil? No antibiotic? Hmmmm… leaves me perplex. I don’t have any grandma remedies, so I couldn’t help you with that, but I’m in the pharmacy field so that’s why I was wondering about the lack of antibiotics.
Anyway, hope you get well soon. I’m having a sore throat myself for a couple of days (hope it doesn’t evolve into cough but i kinda think it will).

I am taking penicillin also (updated the post to reflect that). The pain meds were to keep the fever from debilitating me.
