phoneboy.com went down for about 45 minutes

I had a long chat with Adam Hudson over at Data393, the company responsible for providing this spiffy server I use to host phoneboy.com. The basic crux of his call was: my server needed to be physically moved and wanted to coordinate. We discussed other things, of course, but that was initially why he had called.

Since all I do on my server is run oldblog.phoneboy.com and read my personal email on it, and no IP changes needed to occur, I didn’t have an issue and told them “do it whenever.” Ironically, at about 5pm PDT, during the downtime, I got a call from the Data393 NOC telling me my server was down. I told them I wasn’t surprised because the server was being physically moved at the moment. :)
