PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 1033: Bypassing the iPhone Activation Lock
Apple has always requires iPhones and iPads to “phone home” in order to activate after a factory reset. This made it possible to easily implement the so-called Activation Lock, which prevents someone else from activating your device in the event it is lost or stolen. Sadly, this activation lock can be partially worked around today. I also have no doubt someone will fully work around it eventually.
