PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 502: Launch Center Pro
I’m probably the last iPhone-toting tech douchebag who hasn’t tried Launch Center Pro before today. And yes, I’m now a believer. While I think even non tech douchebags will find this tool valueble, to leverage the full power of LCP, you’ve gotta get really geeky.
Meanwhile, if you want to recreate my Launch Center Pro to Drafts workflow where using a single action from LCP, I post to Twitter, Facebook, and App.net, returning to LCP when done, then browse to this page on your iPhone and click on the following links, which will create the necessary actions in Drafts and LCP:
Create Drafts Crosspost action in Launch Center Pro
Create adnTwitterFacebookPostLCP action in Drafts
Create adnTwitterPostLCP action in Drafts – Note this action will need to be edited in Drafts to replace YOUR_TWITTER_ID with your Twitter name (e.g. PhoneBoy).
Create adnPostLCP action in Drafts
The actions perform the following steps:
- LCP prompts you to type some text
- LCP sends that text to Drafts with the action adnTwitterFacebookPostLCP
- The adnTwitterFacebookPostLCP action in Drafts posts to Facebook, then calls Drafts again with the same text and the action adnTwitterPostLCP.
- The adnTwitterPostLCP action in Drafts posts to Twitter, then calls Drafts yet again with the same text and the the action adnPostLCP.
- The adnPostLCP action in Drafts posts to App.net, then calls Launch Center Pro back.
One side effect of this series of actions is that it leaves a lot of extra drafts in Drafts. Maybe I should ask Alex Guyot about this, though I’m pretty sure I did once before when I was just doing this in Drafts–he was also on Pocket Sized Podcasts episode 152 not too long ago.
