Pricing issues aside, there’s not a chance in hell a wireless network is going to give you the same kinds of capacity a wireline network will anytime soon, despite SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son’s wishful thinking.
Meanwhile, CenturyLink, which has no wireless network of at own, got approval to raise rates for landline services in Tacoma and Gig Harbor, WA because, in the words of a CenturyLink spokesperson of “the extraordinary level of competition that CenturyLink faces in today’s telecommunications market.”
