PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 624: Nixeus Earphones
The PR firm for Nixeus sent me a pair of Nixeus Earphones for review. I recorded this podcast with them, as you might expect, and I have to say: I like them better than my Apple EarPods.

PhoneBoy Speaks Ep 624: Nixeus Earphones
The earphones are your typical in-ear variety with larger than normal 13mm Neodymium Drivers, thus they stick out of your ears a bit more than a typical in-eat pair. The result is better sound than I was getting from my Apple EarPods.
The box comes with three sets of earbud sizes depending on how big your ear holes are. I found the default medium-sized pads fit in my ear comfortably and provided adequate dampening of ambient sound. I should really test this on an airplane next time I fly :)
The headset also includes an integrated microphone similar to that of Apple earbuds, but the volume control on the headset mic is analog and does not directly control the volume on the iPhone. I actually think that’s better, personally, but some may not like that. The microphone was used to record the above podcast on my iPhone and has proven more than adequate for the task (not to mention regular old phone calls).
The headphones, which have a 1.2m flat, tangle-free cord, also come with a carrying case to put the headphones in and a Y cable to convert the iPhone headset plug into separate microphone and headset plugs for use in a computer.
The MSRP on these headphones is $39.99, which is a great deal considering what I paid for the Apple EarPods ($29), which provide, in my mind, an inferior experience.
